Abstract
821,488. Container closures. VANEY, P. Jan. 21, 1958 [Jan. 25, 1957], No. 2090/58. Class 125(3). A closure device for collapsible tubes &c. intended to contain a pasty product includes a nozzle 1 screwed on to the neck of the tube 3 and having therethrough an elbowed conduit 4 opening at the lateral face of the nozzle and slidably mounted on the nozzle 1 is a sleeve 5 urged outwardly by a spring 6 and having an orifice 11 which is brought into register with conduit 4, by axial pressure on the sleeve. A skirt 13 on the sleeve surrounds the end of tube 3 to prevent the entry of foreign bodies and a screw 8 rigid in the sleeve cooperated with a groove 9 in nozzle 1 to limit the movement of the sleeve. The nozzle and sleeve may be of a plastic such as polyethylene or polystyrene.
