Abstract
A liquid vitamin preparation comprises from 25 to 1500 micrograms per cent of a cobalamin vitamin, from 62% w./v., up to the limit of solubility in the preparation, of sorbitol and a liquid pharmaceutical vehicle. Suitable cabalamin vitamins include cyanocabalamin, hydroxycabalamin, anhydrous hydroxycabalamin, nitrocabalamin, chlorocobalamin, cobalamin, dicyanocobalamin, thiocyantocobalamin, sulphatocobalamin, sulphitocobalamin and the hydrogen sulphide addition product of cyanocobalamin. Other pharmaceutical agents present may include folic acid, inositol, "B" vitamins, caffeine or a salt, betaine, choline, methionine, ferric iron producing salts, e.g. ferric ammonium citrate, or soluble ferric pyrophosphate. The liquid vehicle is preferably aqueous and in some cases may contain ethyl alcohol.
