Abstract

820,227. Door closers. TONKS (BIRMINGHAM) Ltd. Dec. 10, 1957 [Jan. 4. 1957], No. 406/57. Addition to 756,209. Class 65(1) Relates to door closers in which a torsion spring surrounds a spindle 7 connected at one end to a dash-pot and at the other end to a radial actuating arm 11, the ends of the spring being secured to a pair of discs, at least one disc being angularly movable by the arm. According to the invention the disc 12 closing the spring housing is angularly movable against the action of the spring by the contact of an abutment 16 on the arm 11 with a stop piece 15 inserted in any one of a plurality of first apertures 14 on the disc, the latter being also provided with a corresponding number of second apertures 17 in any one of which a second stop piece 18 may be inserted to co-operate with an abutment 19 on the housing. The stop pieces are screwed into the apertures.
