Abstract
Synthetic resin compositions comprise in stated proportions: a polyester resin, a pigment (ivory drop black or titanium dioxide), china clay, cobalt naphthenate and either cyclohexanone hydroperoxide or methyl ethyl ketone peroxide. "Polyester resin" is defined as a poly-condensation product of a dihydric alcohol (e.g. propylene glycol) or alcohols and an ethylenically unsaturated dibasic acid (e.g. maleic acid) or acids with or without a saturated dibasic acid (e.g. adipic acid) or acids, the poly-condensation product being dissolved in an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (e.g. styrene). The compositions are used to make a design-bearing or patterned material (see Group XV), and may be polymerized with a mat or web of glass fibres for the purpose. Uses.-Advertising signs, road signs, mural panels, wall or floor lining panels or tiles.
