Abstract
816,764. Cycle handles. MILES, H. D. Nov. 5, 1957, No. 34519/57. Class 136(3) A hand-grip body 1 has a bore 2 to receive a bicycle handle-bar 3, the hand-grip being so formed that it is expandable over a portion of its length, and is formed in that portion with a lug 7 projecting into the bore 2 and adapted to engage a recess 11 in the handle-bar 3. The lug 7 may be of circular form with a bevelled section 8 tapering towards the inward bottom side or it may be of irregular or rectangular shape with a bevelled end. The lug prevents rotational and lateral movement of the hand-grip relative to the handle-bar. Inward lateral movement is further prevented by an inner flange face 4 on the grip 1 bearing against the handle-bar 3 at 12. The hand-grip may be removed from the handle-bar by an implement comprising a blade 14 shaped for insertion into the hand-grip between it and the handle-bar 3 and operable to disengage the lug from the recess 11.
