Abstract
815,285. Battery lamps combined with screwdrivers. FLORIN, G. H. Nov. 22, 1955 [Aug. 25, 1954], No. 24787/54. Class 39(2) [Also in Groups XXIII and XXXVI] A screwdriver comprises a blade 12, a hollow handle 11, which may be of moulded plastic, in which an electric battery 14 is housed, a bulb 13 between the battery and the blade and switch means 16 on the handle to complete the circuit. The handle is transparent where it grips the blade and the opposite end is closed by a plug 112. The part 18 of the handle serves as a condenser to focus the light from the bulb along the blade. A neon tube 19 in contact with the blade 12 is housed in a bore 26 in the end of the blade where this is inserted in the handle, a contact ring 20 being moulded in the handle and extending to the outside. The bore 26 is slotted to allow light to pass from the neon tube. Fuse wire 25 is carried on a spool 24 provided on the handle. In a modification, the spool of fuse wire is inserted into the handle to fit over the battery.
