Abstract
813,749. Tents. SILVER & EDGINGTON Ltd., [trading as EDGINGTON (SILVER & EDGINGTON Ltd.), B.], and HYDE, C. May 17, 1957 [March 19, 1956], No. 8557/56. Class 20(1) A collapsible tent comprises a number of U-shaped frames having the free extremities of their limbs secured in juxtaposition and is characterized by the U- shaped elements being made in separate parts joined together by resilient elements. The U-shaped elements are made from three separate rods or tubes 10, 11 and 12 joined together by resilient elements 13 and 14 made from rubber or plastic sleeves. The free ends of the U-shaped members are held together by sector-shaped fabric pockets 15 and 16 which may or may not be permanently secured to these ends. A fabric cover extends over the U-shaped members either to leave an opening with valance 32 and to form a ground sheet 31 or to form a complete cover with a flap 31, Fig. 7 (not shown). Collapsible bracing struts 19, 20 hold the tent in the open position and further bracing struts 25, 26 are provided across the resilient elements. The rods are formed from wood or metal and may be bowed outwardly.
