Abstract
813,413. Combine-harvesters. RANSOMES, SIMS & JEFFERIES Ltd., and JARVIS J. S. Nov. 8, 1957 [Nov. 8, 1956], No. 34218/56. Class 6(3). The straw-shakers in a combine-harvester are provided with coxcombs 7 which are adjustable relatively to the shaker and can be set for different gradients of terrain. Each shaker comprises serrated side-walls 2 interconnected by a slat-floor 4 with triangular-prismatic slats. In the form shown, a plate 15 is bolted, through the slats to a retaining plate 16, the upper plate having an upstanding wall 18 on which is pivoted, at 19, the coxcomb 7, so as to be adjustable, by a bolt and slot connection 20, 22 with the wall 18. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the supporting plates 15 are bolted to a cross-member secured between the side-walls 2.
