Abstract

811,106. Capacitors. BURNDEPT Ltd. Jan. 5, 1956 [Jan. 5, 1955], No. 294/55. Class 37. A capacitor is formed integrally with a printed circuit by bending a portion of the printed circuit out of its plane to being two conductive members thereof into close proximity. The printed circuit comprises a metal coating on a plastic laminate sheet and, by cutting the sheet appropriately and then bending the sheet under the action of heat, a capacitor may lie formed as indicated for example in Fig. 1. Fig. 5 shows another form of capacitor construction and Figs. 6 and 7 show a further construction in which the tabs a, b are bent out of the plane of the printed circuit as shown in Fig. 6. The plates a, b, Fig. 1, are held in place by a rivet e, alternatively means such as a screw may be provided whereby the spacing between the plates may be varied. A dielectric plate may be inserted between the capacitor electrodes.
