[Also in Groups X and XX] The foundation of a rolling mill is levelled after subsidence by hydraulic jacks, each controlled by a valve operated by an electric motor brought into operation by the engagement of two contacts automatically by the tilting of the foundation. One contact is on the surface of liquid in a container of which there are a number round the periphery of the foundations connected together by a ring conduit and each adapted to control an associated jack. The other contact is on the wall of the container. The electric circuit also gives a long distance indication of the tilting.
