Abstract
806,599. Bracelets. ROD1 & WIENENBERGEK, A. G. June 20, 1955 [March 11, 1955], No. 17781/55. Class 43 An expansible and flexible wrist watch bracelet comprises a layer of sleeve members 1 disposed side by side and each extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the bracelet, with connecting members 2 between adjacent sleeve members, the connecting members 2 being made of resilient wire or strip material with an end portion, 5 disposed along part of one longitudinal edge of the bracelet and two. arms 11, 12 on said end portion extending therefrom into the openings at one end of. two adjacent sleeve members, at least one of the arms of each connecting member extending through one of the adjacent sleeve members and projecting out of the opposite end opening, being then: bent over one end of the transverse wall of the sleeve member toward the other sleeve member, whereby the connecting member is prevented from falling laterally out of the sleeve members. As shown in Fig. 3 the connecting members 2 are substantially in the form of an isosceles triangle with the ends 9, 10 of the sides 11, 12 bent inwardly towards each other into engagement with the ends of the adjacent walls 8 of the sleeves 1. The springs 2 are arranged in two tiers, adjacent springs in each tier being inverted relative to one another and each spring being inverted relative to the springs above or below it. The top and bottom faces 3 and 4 of the sleeves 1 are extended beyond the springs. In a modification, Fig. 7, the springs 2<SP>1</SP> are substantially in the form of a quadrilateral with the longer sides 11<SP>1</SP> thereof concave and one of them cut through mid-way along its length, the connection between the spring and a pair of sleeves being established by providing a longitudinal slot 15 (Fig. 6, not shown), down the centre line of one lateral face 16 of the sleeves and inserting the spring edgewise through the slot The two limbs 23, 24 formed by cutting the spring are engaged over the top and bottom edges of the adjacent sleeve member. Only one tier of interconnecting springs 2<SP>1</SP> is employed and the portions 17 thereof along the longitudinal edges of the upper face of the bracelet are hidden by extensions 22 on the ends of the sleeves.
