806,502. Typewriters &c. FANFOLD Ltd. Dec. 30, 1955 [May 26, 1954], No. 15609/54. Class 100(4) A platen and guide assembly for a typewriter comprises a platen 1, in the form of a segment of a cylinder, and guide plates 5, between which the stationery webs 3 and carbon strips 4 pass to prevent binding as they are fed to and from the platen, as by pin wheel feeds. A cover plate 7 having an extended lip 9 may be provided to bear against the leaves just below the printing position. In a modified arrangement, pairs of webs and strips may be fed between the guides with the transfer coating contacting the guide. Specification 802,676 and U.S.A. Specification 2.467.135 are referred to.
