Abstract

806,319. Chimney and ventilator cowls. NIBLETT, O. D. Feb. 14, 1957 [May 15, 1956], No. 15104/56. Class 25 A chimney &c. cowl comprises a pipe 1a, 1b, 1, Fig. 1, mounting a structure including plates 3 interconnected by brackets 3b, and a cap plate 4. The pipe, which is adapted for chimney pot or conduit mounting, has axial slots 1c located opposite the centres of plates 3, Fig. 4, and the lower edge of each slot is formed with a bracket which connects the opposing plate to the pipe. The cowl may have from three to six plates with associated slots, and the plates may be flat or have flat middle portions. They may also have outwardly projecting lips at their vertical edges and be disposed wholly or partly at an inclination to the axis of the pipe.
