Abstract

806,109. Moulding filters. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. May 10, 1957 [July 25, 1956], No. 14957/57. Class 87(2). [Also in Group I] A reinforced plastic end-cap 28, Fig. 3, is formed about one end of a pleated paper filter element 12 by placing a wire ring 18 in a mould 22, Fig. 2, wherein it is positioned by permanent magnet inserts 24, filling the mould to a predetermined level with a plastisol, and immersing the end 26 of the element 12 so that it rests upon the ring 18. The plastic composition is then cured for two to three seconds at 350‹ to 375‹F. by induction heating. A spiral wire may be used instead of a ring as reinforcing member. Specification 770,556 [Group I] is referred to.
