805,804. Friction clutches. FICHTEL & SACHS A.G. Oct. 24, 1956 [Nov. 16, 1955], No. 32464/56. Class 80 (2). In a friction clutch wherein coiled compression springs 14 apply engaging force to an axially movable presser plate 15, or disengaging force to radially movable centrifugal shoes (Fig. 4, not shown), the springs 14 are insulated from heat by cups 20 forming an air space 24 with projections 19 on the presser plate or recesses in the centrifugal shoes. The cups 20 may seat on the projections 19 on cones 22, or on a spigoted insulating gasket, or there may be clearance at 22 and the cups bear at their flanges 21 on the presser plate through gaskets.
