Abstract

805,445. Holders for thermionic valves. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Aug. 24, 1956 [Sept. 8, 1955], No. 25785/55. Class 38 (1). In a valve-holder comprising socket contacts 3, with tails 10, which are mounted in bores 2 in a body 1 by passing the tails through apertures 12 and bending them outwardly at 13 and then downwardly, the ends 15 of the tails are tapered to facilitate their entry through aper- . tures 20 in a panel 8 carrying a printed circuit 22 to which the tails are ultimately connected by bending them over at 24 and dip-soldering. The holder is primarily attached to the panel by a central sleeve 7 which has snap-fastener engagement with an aperture in the panel. Other shapes of tail are described (Figs. 4-6, not shown) wherein the end 15 has both a parallelsided and a tapered portion.
