A venting apparatus for an invertible liquidfilled tank comprises a housing 1 containing a top-inlet venting passage 3 connected to the top of the tank, a bottom-inlet venting passage 4 connected to the bottom of the tank, and gravity controlled means 13 in the top venting passage 3 that closes the top-inlet venting passage when the housing and tank are inverted, the bottom-inlet passage 4 leading to an outlet 7 located above the top of the tank when the tank is upright. The housing may have a common outlet 5 for the passages 3 and 4.
