803,408. Upholstery padding. HAEUSSLING, H., [trading as HAUSSLING H. [Firm of]]. Dec. 13, 1956 [Dec. 16, 1955], No. 38032/56. Class 52(4) A preformed cotton-wool pad for use on a spring assembly consists of a top layer 1 to which is secured an underlying border 2. In making the pad a peripheral strip surrounding the area of the top layer 1 is first reinforced by stitching, felting or treatment with rubber latex or synthetic resin, the strip is then severed, leaving the central blank 1, to the underside of which the strip is cemented or stitched (after suitable shortening in length and width) so as to form a projecting rim which can be wrapped around and secured to the top frame of the spring assembly.
