Abstract

802,784. Valves. HUGHES, J. F. March 2, 1956 [May 10, 1955], No. 13454/55. Class 135. A control valve for a lubricating system comprises a conical plug 15 provided with a union 22 through which lubricant under pressure may be supplied via a non-return valve 21 to an inlet duct 20. On rotation of the plug, any one of a plurality of outlets 26 in the body 10, each connected by a union 27 to a point to be lubricated may be brought into register with the duct 20. One outlet 26a, is closed by a plug 29 and when the plug 15 is rotated to a position in which the duct 20 registers with this outlet the lubricant under pressure passes through a groove 28 in the valve body to act on the bottom face of the plug 15 to urge it upwardly against a spring 17 so that the duct 20 is connected to all the outlets simultaneously. The plug 29 may be removed and a connection made to a lubricant pressure source so that all the lubrication points are supplied simultaneously.
