802,769. Chucks. AGNEW, J. G. C., and SCHWARTZ, B. P. M. Oct. 29, 1956, No. 32888/56. Class 83 (3). A bevel-closing collet-chuck comprises a disc or washer 4 of resilient rubber &c. between the collet 2 and the end of its seating, to assist in returning the collet from its clamped position, the washer 4 being compressed before the collet begins to bind in its seating. A metal disc 3 may be located between the washer 4 and the end of the seating, and second metal disc between the washer 4 and the end of the splitcollet 2, which may have an apex-angle of as little as 6 degrees for its conical surface.
