Abstract

802,381. Moulding desk-top coverings. SPERRY RAND CORPORATION. April 13, 1956 [Sept. 13, 1955], No. 11311/56. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XIV] A plastic top 13 is moulded onto the metal top 10 of the desk and is anchored to the top by ribs R, also of plastic, which are formed by forcing the plastic (or allowing it to flow) through slots 12 in the metal top. The plastic forming the ribs is received in channel members 14 welded to the underside of the top. A metal edge-strip 21 is added after moulding. The plastic may be high-acetyl cellulose acetate.
