Abstract
801,015. Blasting cartridges and compositions therefor. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. May 9, 1956 [Aug. 8, 1955], No. 22798/55. Classes 9(1) and 9(2) In a safety heating device as in Specification 731,096 containing a heating composition to be initiated electrically by a resistance wire, the amount of cuprous chloride in the composition may be between 0 and 6 per cent by weight and a high resistance wire is used in the initiator. The preferred composition consists of 62 per cent guanidine nitrate, 34 per cent potassium persulphate, 3 per cent cuprous chloride and 1 per cent petroleum jelly, all parts being by weight. The electric intiating element may be as described in Specification 430,750. Up to 1 per cent by weight of an oxygen-negative organic fuel such as castor oil or linseed oil may be included in the composition.
