Abstract
800,467. Intermittent toothed gearing. MONTRES ROLEX S.A. Aug. 14, 1956 [Aug. 19, 1955], No. 24893/56. Class 80 (1). [Also in Group XIX] An internally toothed crown-shaped disc 8 bearing date numerals 9 is advanced suddenly at the end of every twenty-four hours by a finger 4a rigid with a rotatable sleeve 4 to which is secured a spiral cam 10. A driving wheel 3 loose on the sleeve 4 rotates at a speed of one revolution in twenty-four hours and drives the cam 10 through pin and slot 11, 12 lifting a jumper 13 until it reaches the end of the cam spiral and acts on a ramp 18 of the cam to give it a sudden movement. With this movement of the cam 10 the finger 4a engages between teeth 7 of the disc 8 which is thus advanced suddenly. As shown, the pin 11 is carried by the cam 10 and engages in a slot in the wheel 3. The jumper 13 is urged against the cam 10 by a spring 15 and a detent 19 prevents untimely movement of the disc 8. The ramp 18 is are-shaped to avoid damage on reverse movement during setting.
