800,209. Coloured screens for lighting fittings. HIND, L. H. May 14, 1956 [May 12, 1955]. No. 13715/55. Class 75(4) An electric lighting fitting adapted particularly for a torch or bicycle lamp comprises a reflector having a slot therein through which a plane, coloured, pivotallymounted filter can be moved in its own plane from a position outside the reflector to a position within the reflector in order to colour the light emitted from the bulb. In the example a torch is arranged to carry two differently coloured filters 15 and 17, e.g. red and green respectively, which are pivoted upon an inwardly directed annular flange 10a at the upper end of the casing 10 and are each provided with an operating knob 19 on a portion thereof extending through an opening 11a in the periphery of the lens-carrying cover 11. The reflector 12 comprises a forward portion 12a with a gradually sloping wall and a rear portion 12b having a steeply sloping wall, the junction between the two portions being provided with two oppositely disposed similar slots 12c which are at the level of the filters 15, 17 when the reflector is pisitioned upon the flange 10a of the casing. The open bottom end of the reflector forms the bulb holder in the usual manner. The cover 11 is removably attached to the end of the casing, e.g. by a screw-thread connection of limited rotation.
