797,581. Covers for screws. JONES, S. H. Oct. 8, 1954 [Oct. 12, 1953], No. 28068/53 Class 89(1) A screw-head-cover 3, Fig 4, has a flange 4 adapted to be deflected by a conical surface 5 towards the underside of screw-head- 1 as it is driven on to the head. The deflecting-surface may be the countersink receiving the head, which carries a washer 10 to leave a space 9 for the cover, or the countersink or head may be stepped. Where the material receiving the screw is: too soft to deflect the flange, the countersink is lined with a washer. In a modification, a stepped-washer 12, Fig. 7, is provided. In another arrangement, for a round-headed screw 2, Fig. 10, the surface 5 is formed in a washer 18. The cover,. which deters unauthorized removal of the screw, may be coloured or ornamented and be of, e.g. synthetic-resin or bronze.
