796,024. Self-service checking counters. PARNALL & SONS, Ltd. Feb. 18, 1957 [Feb. 22, 1956], No. 5438/56. Class 116 A self-service checking counter has, associated with an inclined part of the counter top, a gate which may be set to deflect goods after checking into one of a pair of collecting bays. As shown, a gate 10 may be pivoted about a hinge 10a to deflect goods placed on the slope 7 into either of bays B, C for collection. The shelf 6 from which the goods are checked is adjustable in height.
