Class 75(4) In a flameproof electric lighting fitting comprising a hollow body 5 closed by a transparent or a translucent cover 7 to form an enclosure 8 for the lamp 15, and a housing 9 secured to the body 5 to provide with the wall 5a thereof a second enclosure 10 for the electrical connections 11 for the lamp 15, an externally screw-threaded lampholder 14 is located in a screwthreaded hole in the dividing wall 5a between the two enclosures 8, 10. For siting the filaments of different powered lamps 15 at the focus of the reflector 19 in the body 5, the lampholder may be locked in two different axial positions in its hole by a washer 17 which engages a recess at the socket end'of the holder 14 and is secured by a screw 16 either directly to wall 5a or to a boss 20 projecting therefrom.
