Abstract

794,962. Rear-viewing mirrors. ZINGG, H. April 3, 1956 [April 1, 1955], No. 10121/56. Class 103(2) A driving mirror 7 for a tractor &c. is adjustably mounted at 10 on a vertical pin 8 which engages a bearing bush 9 fixed near the outer end of a jib 5, a depending extension 4 at the inner end of the jib engaging bearings 2, 3 on a bracket 1 secured to the side of the bonnet H of the tractor and being provided with a handle 16 by which the position of the jib may be changed from the tractor seat S. The lower end of the pin 8 has a rearwardly-extending part 11 which is connected to a control rod 13 pivoted in a further bearing 15, offset from the bearings 2, 3, on the bracket 1 so that the pin 8 and mirror 7 rotate as the jib is swung. The bearing 2 is provided with a cage 6 locating a spring-pressed ball adapted to engage one of a ring of angularly-spaced notches on the jib extension 4, and the outer end of the jib is preferably equipped with a flash light 17.
