In a Koepe winder the cable 1 is secured so that its length or distribution may be adjusted, the cable at one end being resiliently fixed at IC and passing round pulley 2 of cage 3, guide pulley 5, Koepe pulley 4, pulley 6 of cage 7 and being secured at its other end to drum 8. The latter is held by locking bar 10 and may be released to adjust the cable length.
