Abstract

794,265. Valves. BROWN (BROWNALL), Ltd., D. Feb. 20, 1956 [May 16, 1955], No. 14032/55. Class 135. [Also in Group XXIV] A connection for operating a rotary valve comprises a rod a having a handle at one end and a boss f with two projecting arms g, g<SP>1</SP> parallel with the rod, the boss being secured on the rod at one or other of different points e at or towards its other end, one arm g<SP>1</SP> being cylindrical and the other g having a turned up end i with a transverse slot j behind it, and the valve spindle d<SP>1</SP> having a crosshead k with diametrical slots m, are adapted to pass through the transverse slot j and the other over the cylindrical arm. The boss is detached from the rod and manipulated over the crosshead after which the boss is replaced on the rod and a split-pin h passed through the boss and a rod hole e. The connection provides for angular movement between the rod and spindle as well as positive turning of the latter.
