Class 52(5) The loop 8 of the fastening element 1 of a suspension device similar to that disclosed in Specification 708,989 is located in a closed recess in the holding element 7. The recess, formed as a bore in a synthetic plastic holding element and opened by a saw-cut for insertion of the journalled loop 8, is closed and welded when the holding element is heated and bent to shape. In a modification in which two holding elements are connected by a horizontal cross bar one shank 2 and end part 5 of each fastening element 1 are replaced by a head upset after the loop 8 has been inserted in the bore; without opening the bore by a saw cut, and the other end part 5 is extended-to engage an adjacent aperture 3 in the plate 4. In a further modification the loop 8 is rigidly embedded in the holding element.
