Abstract

791,082. Cleaning carding machines. EWART & SON, Ltd., W. Jan. 16, 1956 [Jan. 17, 1955], No. 1322/55. Class 120(3) [Also in Group XXVIII] Dust having, fallen from a carding machine 2, Fig. 1, into a shallow well 1 is directed by rotating vanes 7 to a peripheral suction outlet 4, Fig. 2. The vanes 7 project radially from a central cone 18 driven through gearing from the main worker shaft 8. In a modification, the dust falls on to the curved surface of a rotating cone the 'base of which extends almost over the whole base area of the well and fins on the cone surface directs the deposited dust to the suction outlet.
