791,022. Bolt-like pins; cotters. TOOTH CO., H. & L. March 12, 1956 [May 13, 1955], No. 7693/56. Classes 89(1) and 89(2) [Also in Group XXI] A bolt-like pin, e.g. for securing a digging-tooth 13, Fig. 2, to the shank 10 of an excavator-bucket, comprises two substantially semi-circular-sectioned metal parts X, Y, Fig. 3, separated by a layer Z of rubber or the like, preferably bonded to the parts The parts have offset centralportions 52, 60 providing inwardly-facing shoulders 67 and outwardly-facing shoulders 62. In use, the rubber layer is compressed to cause portion 52 to bear against the shank 10, Fig. 5, and the endportions 51 to bear against the tooth-walls 22, there being oversize apertures in both parts, and the shoulders locate the pin laterally. Removal of the pin is effected by inserting a wedge-shaped tool T in a chamfer 71 at one end of the pin, levering the tool upwards and knocking the pin axially from the other end.
