790,872. Mixing vessels. OSTER MANUFACTURING CO., J. Sept. 13, 1955, No. 26199/55. Class 86 [Also in Group VI] A closure for a mixing vessel of a food comminuting machine, for example, a mixing vessel 5 removably mounted on a base 6 which houses an electric motor coupled with a set of cutter blades 7, comprises a cover 8 preferably of resilient material which has a tapered side wall 12 with a thin flexible lip 15, and has a central aperture 9 closed by a plug 10. The plug has a flange 17 which seats on a sloping wall 16 and has lugs 18 for bayonettype engagement with slots 20 and cam tracks 19 formed on the cover 8 around the aperture 9. Parts of the flanges 17 are cut away at 23 to provide venting for the interior of the mixing vessel.
