Abstract
790,560. Automatic catches. SAUNDERSROE, Ltd. Aug. 31. 1956 [June 2, 1955]. No. 15835/55. Class 44 [Also in Group XXXIII] In control mechanism for a helicopter wherein a rotatable twist grip for engine throttle control is mounted in a tubular collective pitch lever for free movement within a normal range (see Group XXXIII) the grip may be releasably locked to the lever after abnormal movement by a spring loaded plunger 28 which normally rides over the under-surface of a flange 29 on the twistgrip 16. After abnormal movement of the grip, the plunger engages a recess 34 in flange 29 so that the grip 16 and lever 10 are locked. The grip is freed by depression of a further spring loaded plunger 26, the end 35 of which engages a tail 30 on plunger 28.
