Abstract

789,464. Beds. RACHLINE, L., and PEPIN, E. M. May 25, 1955, No. 15110/55. Class 52(2) The end frames 6 of a folding bed are connected to the mattress frame 2 by pivoted links 8, 9 of such length that the end frames can be folded completely beneath the mattress. A retaining bar 14 is releasably secured to the side of the mattress frame transverse to the links either bolted to the mattress frame as shown, or pivoted in a horizontal plane to engage under link 8 to hold the end frames when erected. Pyramidal sheaths 15 may be provided, fitting over the bed posts so that a similar bed. may be superimposed forming a two-tier bed; the links 9 of the lower bed can be modified as shown in Fig. 1 to facilitate stowage of the upper. bed therebeneath when out of use.
