Abstract

789,182. Epicyclic toothed gearing. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. June 28, 1956 [June 29, 1955], No. 18839/55. Class 80 (1). A limited freedom of movement to compensate for manufacturing error is allowed of the internally toothed reaction annulus 1 of epicyclic gear trains by supporting the said annulus by means of a plurality of resilient pads 2 with rigid end members 12, 13 between the annulus and the housing 3. The pads are preferably of rubber bonded to end members 12, 13 of metal and are evenly spaced around the periphery of the annulus and shims 18a are provided for initial adjustment. Specification 735,593 is referred to.
