Abstract

788,898. Endless-belt conveyers. HOLZ, W. G. Sept. 3, 1956, No. 26905/56. Class 78 (1). A belt 2 has load-engaging rubber cleats 4 hinged to it by pins 10. The pins pass through holes 12 in rubber knobs 9 which are secured to the belt. Each knob forms part of a fastener provided with a head 15 which bears against the undersurface of the belt. Each fastener is inserted by passing a wire 22, Fig. 5, through the hole 12 in the knob, twisting its ends, passing them through an aperture 19 in the belt and then using pliers 24 to pull the knob through the aperture. The wire is then cut and removed. In a modification the fastener has a stem 17, Fig. 4, which is cut off above the knob after it has been used to pull through the knob.
