787,616. Moulding-processes. HOEKSTRA, J. S., and VERSCHURE, H. J. M. March 23, 1956 [April 6, 1955], No. 9161/56. Class 83 (1). In a shell-moulding process, the mix introduced into a mould-cavity corresponding to the casting to be made or a part thereof, is subjected to centrifugal action. The mould may be rotated, and the mix introduced continuously or intermittently, and the mould may also be vibrated or reciprocated vertically. The mix may be supplied during heating of the material, which may be effected by heating the mould or by H.F. heating. Examples of moulds for particular articles are shown, including a twopart mould 25, 26, for a bearing-race for a gun-cupola, which may be cast centrifugally.
