Class 59 A conical mill for fine grinding moist material e.g. paints, pastes, creams or the like comprises a stator having a smooth conical inner surface surrounding a conical rotor provided on its outer surface with a series of channels 2, 5 which do not communicate directly with one another and which are closed alternatively at opposite ends so as to serve alternately as inlet and outlet channels, the channels being separated by comparatively thin radial walls forming alternate grinding and scraper surfaces 3, 4 co-operating with the inner surface of the stator and extending throughout almost the entire length of the rotor.
