Abstract

784,883. Extracting air from paper pulp &c. ESCHER WYSS GES. June 16, 1955 [June 24, 1954],.No. 17458/55. Class 96. Apparatus for extracting air from paper pulp &c., e.g. passing into the flow box of a Fourdrinier paper-making machine, comprises a chamber 3, from which air and some of the suspension is withdrawn by a pump 4, and a device 10 generating vibrations which facilitate the separation of the fibres from adhering air bubbles. The device may be a rotating perforated cylinder, e.g. rotating axially, a rotating and axially vibrating shaft carrying discs, a vibrating shaft carrying comb-like plates, a vibrating partition or perforated plate, or a sonic or supersonic wave generator.
