Abstract
783,698. Looms with stationary weft supply. CLAEYS, M. Oct. 30, 1953 [Oct. 30, 1952], No. 30112/53. Class 142(2) A dummy shuttle, for a loom with stationary weft supply, comprises two parts C, c assembled together to provide a longitudinal slot f into which the weft yarn extending between the fell of the cloth and the stationary supply is received and held. A stationary yarn supply is provided at each side of the loom, and a gripping and cutting device k is provided at each end of the dummy shuttle so that the weft from each supply can be engaged during beat-up and cut and held by the dummy shuttle for insertion into the shed. The devices k are operated by spring controlled feelers po that are engaged by projections B provided on the slay at each side of the loom. Upper and lower sets of rollers d, e serve to guide the dummy shuttle in its movement across the loom. The lower rollers e rest on supporting rollers mounted on a carriage that reciprocates beneath the shed.
