Abstract
781,758. Gas turbine plant. DOWTY FUEL SYSTEMS, Ltd. Feb. 14, 1955 [Nov. 13, 1953], No. 31559/53. Addition to 741,442. Class 110 (3). [Also in Group XXIX] A gas turbine fuel supply system as claimed in the parent Specification has a heat-exchanger interposed in the fuel supply line between the fuel tank and the burners in which the engine lubricating oil or other fluid is cooled. A fuel system as claimed in the parent Specification comprises an engine-driven pump 11 with its inlet connected by a feed-line 12 with a fuel tank 13 and its outlet by a delivery line 15 with spilltype burners 16, a spill line 17 connecting the burners with the feed line by way of a throttle valve 18, a branch return line 21 extending from the fuel tank to a point on the spill line situated between the throttle valve and feed line and a valve 22 regulating the flow of fuel in the branch return line controlled by means 23 sensitive to the fuel temperature. According to the present invention a heat-exchanger 60 or 601 is inserted in the feed line 12 or delivery line 15. Engine lubricating oil or other fluid is circulated through the conduit 61. In a further modification, the valve 22 is controlled by means responsive to barometric pressure. Specification 694,318 is referred to.
