Abstract

781,520. Blood transfusion apparatus. POITRAS, E. J., and WALTER, C. W. May 12, 1955 [Feb. 1, 1955], No. 13813/55. Class 81 (2). [Also in Group XVII] Blood transfusion apparatus has a container A with a stopper 10 having a passage 13 closed by a projection 14 having a slit 15 and forming a flap valve for air entry, and a passage 16 into which is fitted a coupler tube 20 connected to a tube 21 having a dripforming chamber 21a. The passages may be initially closed by a disc held in position by a cap. In a modification (Fig. 5), a ball is received in an enlargement 35 of passage 34 having valve seats 35a and dispensing passage 36 is sealed by a puncturable membrane 36a.
