Abstract
781,092. Vibratory toys. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS GES. Nov. 26, 1954 [Nov. 27, 1953; June 9, 1954; Oct. 20, 1954: Nov. 20. 1954; Nov. 20. 1954; Nov. 20, 1954], No. 34382/54. Class 132(3) A vibratory toy comprises a platform or equivalent member to which a vibratory movement is imparted so that toy articles placed on the platform are given a progressive m o v e - ment, the platform being supported such that it is free to move in a direction comprising a horizontal and a vertical component, means being provided for vibrating the platform at such a frequency that the vibration of the platform is invisible to the unaided eye. In Fig. 1, a platform 1 supported on springs 2 is vibrated both horizontally and vertically by an electromagnetic vibrator having a core 6 secured to a base 3, an armature 4 attached to the platform being separated from the core 6 by an air gap 7. The platform shown in Fig. 2 comprises a a disc 9 supported on springs 10 and its given an oscillatory rotary motion by two vibrators 12, 13. The speed of toy articles placed on the platform may be varied by potentiometer control of the current supply to the vibrator and/or by variation of the angle which the vibrator makes with the platform, Fig. 4 (not shown). A number of longitudinal lengths of vibratable platform spring mounted on bases may be joined end to end and actuated by one or more vibrators, Fig. 5 (not shown). In a further modification, Fig. 6, a vibrator is secured at right angles to a platform 32 but the vertical vibration force of the vibrator produces a vertical and horizontal movement of the platform as a result of the inclined positioning of springs 33. In further modifications, Figs. 8, 9 (not shown), a vibrator is attached only to the vibratable platform which is either supported on or suspended from a base. In place of the platform, tubes or troughs may be used.
