[Also in Group XVIII] The dial of indicating-apparatus comprises a light-conducting plate 1 with scale markings 3 and a light source 5 arranged in a peripheral recess shielded from direct view by an opaque screen 6 and with a reflecting mirror surface 4 round the periphery 4. The markings 3 may be engraved and painted black, a highly diffuse light reflecting surface 7 is arranged behind the dial and the rear face of the dial has an etched annular portion 2.
