Abstract

775,044. Drilling; milling. DECKEL, H., and DECKEL, F. W. Jan. 24, 1955 [Feb. 12, 1954], No. 2051/55. Class 83 (3). A boring and/or milling-machine comprises a headstock 20 horizontally-movable on a vertically-movable gear-box 14, and a work-table 40 movable horizontally on the bed and having a work-holding surface lying in a vertical plane transverse to the direction of movement of the headstock. The gear-box 14 contains powermeans for rotating the spindle 26 and for moving the box, the headstock, and the table under the control of handles 16, 22, 48. Hand wheels 18, 24, 46 for manual movement, are also provided. The spindle 26 is carried in a bushing 28 adjusted axially by a handle 30. On top of the headstock may be mounted a vertical-spindle head. Means for indicating the movement of the table 40 comprise a light 64, a scale 62, prisms 66 and a screen 68. Similar devices 72, 76, 78 and 58, 60 record movements of the gearbox 14 and the headstock 20.
