774,233. Laminated sheet material. BERRY, L. Feb. 28, 1955, No. 5862/55. Class 140. Laminated sheet material comprising an upper layer of melamine formaldehyde in urea melamine formaldehyde impregnated paper, an intermediate layer of linen or linen-like fabric and a lower backing layer of rigid material such as wood, said upper, intermediate and lower backing layers being bonded or united by a resinous bonding agent under the action of heat and pressure. The backing layer may consist of plywood, block-board, compressed chipboard or metal. Artificial resin of the formaldehyde group may be used as the bonding agent. The upper paper layer may itself be covered with an overlay finishing paper which is also impregnated with a resin and may be printed.
