Abstract

773,503. Tables ; brackets. CARROLL, M. June 23, 1955 [March 26, 1954], No. 8838/54. Classes 52 (3) and 52 (5). A table has a sliding top 10 with a hinged flap 12 so that after extending the flap the table top may be slid to project laterally of the support 1 over a bed. The table top 10 is attached to L-shaped runners 9 sliding in correspondingly shaped grooves in the support, with stops in the grooves limiting its range of movement, and may be provided with a hinged flap on the side of the table top remote from the flap 12. The support 1, mounted on castors 4, is adapted as a cabinet and has a lateral extension 2, with a hinged lid 11 which is located under the bed when the table is in use. A towel rail may be provided on the side of the support 1. A toggle stay 14 attached to a member depending from the top 10 as in Fig. 3 supports the flap 12 which folds down against the side of the support 1. Rollers as in Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown) may be provided in the grooves.
