772,974. Conveying stacks by buoyancy methods. HANSON, V. E. Aug. 5, 1955, No. 22582/55. Class 78 (2). A stack of sheets S is floatingly transported over surface 1 by jets 9 of air, each jet being controlled by ball valve 16 biased by spring 17 so that the weight of a stack initiates the upward jet of air. As shown, low pressure air from pipe 4 flows into manifold 2 and thence escapes through jets 9 whenever the stack passes over the jets, so providing a cushion of air upon which the stack floats.
